The first thing you should do every morning as you slowly wake up from your slumber, is set your intention for the day.
You can live your life unconsciously which means you just go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens. Or you can be the creator of your own life.
Set the intention of having an amazing day. Set the intention of achieving a goal, of having fun, of laughing out loud.
You have to firstly be aware of what a brilliant day looks like for you. When you can imagine this great day, you can focus on creating it for yourself.
Your focus creates your reality.
It is much better to be in charge of what goes into your mind for the day. Than to mindlessly turn on the TV and watch the morning news.
Let your mind be filled with other people's drama and annoyances. Let this be the driver for your day. You will get annoyed at what is going on in the world around you.
Is this really how you want to start every day. Or would you rather listen to the birds singing their happy, beautiful songs. Thank God for another beautiful day on earth.
Be grateful for what you have in this life when so many others have so much less.
I can guarantee you, however little you think you have, there will always be someone in this world, somewhere, with less than you.
Be grateful for your health and your family.
Take a moment to breathe in the fresh air.
Take a moment to feel your heart beating strongly.
Take a moment to feel loved.
Take a moment to send unconditional love to those around you.
Just take a brief moment to appreciate your life.
Now, you can set your intention to have a great day. For things to go well. To have an easy and playful journey if you are travelling anywhere. To have a beautiful walk.
It's your creation so imagine having that day that is true to you. That you would love.
This is wonderful Colin. I completely agree and when I’m not woken up by a crying child I always try to make my first thought of the day one of appreciation. Then I try to set an intention for what I want the day to be like. At some point in the morning I will get my meditation in, and it’s those small rituals that give me the strength I need each day.
Such a wonderful reminder to come across this morning. Thank you, Colin! 🥰
