We can select our thoughts in the same way we select an outfit in the morning. We're choosing how we're showing up in the world. It's easier said than done, and it takes practice. But its the most important practice in my opinion.

This is essential knowledge, thank you for sharing Colin 🙌✨️

Point 2 really hit home for me, especially when you discuss catching them early to take the power out of them.

Thank you Tom. It was a powerful lesson. Nothing, including thoughts can live without energy or power.

Being aware of when we are telling a story, and then letting it go. Yes. Such an important thing to be aware of. Reminds me of The Work, of Byron Katie. She has us ask, “Is that true?”, and can we be absolutely certain it’s true. Her work was life-changing for me.

Thanks Gayle 🙏🏼 someone actually mentioned Byron Katie to me the other day…

I agree with all your points. One bit that really stood out for me was this...Practice catching the stories. Practice letting them go.

I think this is so important. Isn't it wonderful that we don't need to hold onto stories that don't serve us well?

Thank you Wendy 🙏🏼 yes, so much power in letting those stories go 💪🏻🤗😃❤️

Great post, Colin. Simple yet profound. Here’s to hoping we step into more awareness, not believing the negative thoughts, and taking more responsibility in 2026 and beyond. ✨

Thank you Lily 🙏🏼😊 perfectly said

Colin, I laughed out loud at the van story because I have absolutely written a full psychological profile, criminal history, and villain origin story about a stranger before breakfast. Awareness really does ruin the drama in the best way.

I love how grounded this is. No incense required, no pretending we don’t all still occasionally spiral over a badly parked vehicle. Just noticing the thought, questioning the story, and reclaiming your nervous system before it writes a sequel.

This felt practical, human, and earned. I see the work behind it, and I see you in it. Also, I will now be side-eyeing my thoughts like “is this true or am I just bored.”

Thanks so much Desaree. It’s kind of crazy the stories our brains make up, isn’t it? We should all be prolific writers… 🤣

And yes, a lot of work happened before I had this breakthrough. It’s a constant journey of lessons and awareness.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it 🙏🏼
