In a few hundred words you created the feeling of an entire world that clearly existed long before the first sentence and will continue after the last. I also liked your use of implication. You never explain who Induna is, why he left society, or what happened to Lulu's parents. We happen upon a slice of life unfolding in the moment of now. Finally, the literary symmetry is beautifully done. The story begins with a cry in the wilderness and ends with quiet human warmth. The journey is about rediscovering a part of humanity that solitude can never replace. That's elegant storytelling.
