What are you refusing to see?
Imagine you had a giant pair of wings on your back and that you could fly. Not just around earth but into space and the whole universe.
Imagine for a moment that you could experience the love of flying everywhere and anywhere. Where would you go. What would you see.
You don't have to worry about breathing or getting cold in space. You can just fly wherever your heart desires. What sort of experience do you think you would have.
Would you be terrified and just stay on the ground. Awkwardly walking around with your giant wings. Or would you go exploring. Fly high and swoop down over lakes and rivers.
Fly up into the high mountains. Fly to the top of mount Everest and land right on the top. Conquering the mountain in a heartbeat rather than taking days to scramble up and contend with all the harsh conditions.
Imagine flying next to a rocket being fired into space. Seeing it's after burners light up the sky. Flying amongst all the other satellites and space debris.
You whizz past the moon and onto Venus. You feel the sun warm your whole body as another sunrise hits you but deep in space.
You have to look away it is so bright but you revel in its warmth. You fly on to Neptune. The bright blue planet. You land on mars and have a look around.
You see man's little rover scurrying around. Searching for signs of life. Desperately hoping we can move planets after doing everything we can to plunder and destroy the only one we have today.
You launch off mars and fly deeper into space. Past the rest of the planets and out of our solar system. Waving at Pluto and her plight of being downgraded from planet to space rock.
But she is still beautiful, keeping her constant orbit with the rest of our planets in the solar system. You spot the Voyager. Man's exciting ship exploring beyond our own solar system.
Curious what she will find. Wondering if she will ever see other signs of life. And yet, our solar system is fill of life and different species of extraterrestrials.
They hop amongst planets. The whizz in and out of our solar system. They explore the limitless expanse of the universe. They discuss the plight of earth.
They try and talk and help humans to make changes. But most are to narrow minded and too wrapped up in their own small reality to be able to think and imagine what else is possible.
What else is available to them. Most are just trying to survive their experience on earth. Rather than trying to flourish and thrive.
They complain and suffer but experience moments of joy and pleasure at the same time. And for most, that is enough. Mediocrity, the killer of dreams and mind blowing experiences.
Our eyes are closed to seeing what else is around us. We can only compute what our eyes can see.
But when we understand that everything we see is just an illusion then we start to wonder what we are not seeing. What we are not experiencing.
How many times do we not see what is right in front of us. And are then surprised when we suddenly see it. Truth be told, we are too terrified to want to see what and who else is living in our universe.
We are actually closed to it. We think we want to see but deep down we won't allow our eyes to reveal the truth because it may terrify us.
And so, we live blissfully unaware of what is going on around us. Just surviving day to day. Not fully experiencing life but complaining bitterly when our time is up.
If you could fly around the universe with your giant wings, what do you imagine you would see. If you could see all the abundant life in space. What would extraterrestrials look like?
What would their daily lives consist of. What would they love doing. What would they experience during their life time. How different would their lives be to ours.
How different would their daily experiences be. Would they thrive and flourish or would they also complain when things didn't go their way.
Would their children drive them up the wall and be naughty in school. Or would they just plugin and receive all the knowledge they needed. Endless possibilities.
All going on right now but we refuse to see the ET sat next to us on our sofa watching TV and laughing with us. The cat curled up on their invisible lap.
The dog lying at their feet. Unaware that you can't even see your ET friend. Creating a magical life for ourselves all starts with our imagination of what is possible. What are we not seeing.
What are we missing out on because our eyes are closed and we live in fear of facing reality head on. What is truly possible in this gift of life we have received.
What have we closed our minds to. What are we open to seeing.
