Human beings are very stubborn creatures. They pick and choose what they decide they want to believe.
For example, they will believe another human being that completely makes up things but is so convincing that everyone believes them. Like a politician.
Whereas, when we see evidence of extra-terrestrial activity, for example, their minds don't actually want to comprehend the significance of the event, and therefore, they dismiss it.
It is simply too mind blowing to imagine communicating with ETs or imagining that there are a million other earths out in the universes which are exactly the same as ours.
Our human minds simply can't deal with this fact and so they shut down the possibility that this exists. Some want to believe, but they still won't allow their minds to go there.
They can't comprehend a life where we may travel to different planets. It is quite simply terrifying to imagine this. The dangers of space travel. The unknown dangers that await us out there.
It is not a case of what is really out there or not. It is a case of the human mind being able to deal with it. It is much safer to not allow that to enter our consciousness and to remain in our own protective bubble of perceived safety.
There are many things in this world we cannot explain. Scientists can only establish what they can physically see in front of them. As can archaeologists.
However, there is a broken system in place where both of these professions require money to fund research. This means, that whoever is paying the money can guide the narrative and bend the truth to suit their own agenda.
It is not a free and fair system. Throughout the ages, whoever comes up with a totally different theory is banished and ridiculed. Even if proof is presented.
We come back to the fact that humans have free will and choose what they wish to open their minds to and believe. They can simply choose not to believe for the mind cannot deal with that reality.
It is too mind blowing to imagine a world where there were previous civilizations, bigger and more advanced than we are today, completely vanished.
They did leave behind sophisticated clues but these are open to interpretation. The biggest thing that holds back mankind is fear.
Fear of what once was and the biggest fear of all. What if that happens to us too.
Sure, there are many apocalyptic movies depicting a world being destroyed. And people may imagine this on a surface level. But they can't really comprehend it happening in reality.
For if you imagined that we were about to be invaded by ETs or have some kind of self-created nuclear disaster, you would lose your purpose. What would the point be in going to work if we are all about to perish in a fiery hell.
Or become slaves to an unknown species. There are endless possible scenarios. And so, for humans, it is much better to believe that everything is safe and simple.
This way we can imagine that in the black and white way of the world we live in, we work hard and make money. We can then buy nice things.
We have children and watch them grow up and have their own life and so the cycle continues. Many can only just cope with this reality.
To imagine a reality where the complete unknown is introduced. Where horrifying things may happen. Where the cycle of life is broken. It is simply too hard to imagine.
And yet, many humans currently live in this type of reality. They may have been kidnapped and become sex slaves. Imagine that was your life instead of the one you have today.
Can you imagine many years ago living in an African village in the middle of the wild. That is your reality. You grow your crops and hunt. May have a few fights with other neighboring tribes.
But you have a set reality. Hunting, gathering, bringing your children up etc. Suddenly, one day, a group of armed warriors enter your village.
They brutally kill lots of your family members. They kill your animals and burn your houses to the ground. Then they chain you up in a line and march everyone out of the village.
You are injured and bleeding and starving. You are traumatized by seeing your family murdered in front of you. And as you stumble along in abject misery, you feel a sharp pain on your back.
One of the warriors has whipped you across your back. They shout something at you, that you don't understand but assume means you have to walk faster. Your reality has been shattered into a thousand pieces.
You walk for days with hardly any food or water. You see your friends that you have known your whole life, die and be cast aside in the bush. Left to be eaten by wild animals. No respect or compassion.
These men are like cold aliens. They look like you but they hate you. How can someone you have never met hate you so much and treat you like an animal. In fact, you don't even treat your animals this way.
Suddenly, you're on a ship. You didn't even know that ships existed. In fact, you have never been to the ocean and so you didn't know that existed either.
You are now bobbing up and down in the darkness of this ship. Everyone is throwing up. You have to go to the toilet where you sit. This becomes your new reality for weeks. It seems endless. You wish to be dead.
You don't understand how you are still alive and why. The chains hurt your wrists and ankles. Your mind can barely comprehend what is happening to you. It must just be a nightmare.
You haven't seen the sun for weeks. Finally, the ship stops and you are all hauled out into the bright sunlight. It burns your eyes. It is freezing cold. Everything looks totally different.
Man are shouting incoherently at you. Whipping and kicking. And things don't get any better. This becomes your new reality. A slave working in America on a plantation.
Ripped away from your previous reality to something that your mind could not even, in its wildest imagination create. So, this has already happened to some humans. Now imagine this happening again.
Your current reality of going to work, your house you live in. your car, driving to work or going on the train. All of this disappearing in a heartbeat and something new and in-comprehendible and terrifying becoming your new reality.
Your previous life shattered. The struggles that you face in your daily life today. Your lack of self confidence in doing what you would love to do. Your beliefs that you are not good enough etc.
In a world where you suddenly become a slave to a different species, you would wish to have all those struggles back. For you would realise how insignificant they are in this moment, right now.
You would realise how grateful you need to be for what you have in your life today. For there is always the possibility of it being snatched away violently and your whole reality being dashed and a new horrifying one being created.
One where real survival is your biggest daily challenge. Just trying to stay alive to see tomorrow. Be grateful for the simple problems you face in your life today. Be grateful for what you have in your life.
Your freedom and the love in your life. For one day, that may all be snatched away and a new reality thrust on you that is a million times worse than anything you can comprehend. Worse than a horrifying nightmare you mind can conjure up.
Embrace the gift of life and live every day to the full. Know, that problems you face in your daily life are in reality, insignificant to what is truly possible in an unknown universe.
Know that the problems you face today, you will gladly embrace with open arms if your reality was shattered. You're still alive and still fighting.
