In the light of the moon, as you sit there pondering your life. Are you where you expected to be or do you consider yourself way behind your expectations.
Have things turned out as you wanted them to. Better or worse.
If I told you that you were the sole creator of your life. You were responsible for everything that has happened so far.
Apart from initial disbelief and denial, what if it were true. Because it is in this understanding of realising that you have created everything so far, that you are able to now create the life that does meet your expectations.
Of course, there is a caveat. Why do you have certain expectations. Why do you want certain things. Most people want lots of money to give them freedom to do lots of things they would love to do.
The reality is that money is really a distraction from living a life you would truly love. It is better to directly go after a life you would love than to chase after money first which you believe is the precursor.
In the world we live in today, there are always ways to get what we want in life without having to be super rich.
Yes, we do need some money for basic things. But if you really want to go on an exciting holiday, you could do a working holiday where everything is paid for.
You could go to an amazing area where you house sit or look after someone's pets while they go away.
There are so many creative ways to get what you want without subjecting yourself to a lifetime of endlessly working as hard as you can and for as long as you can so that you can get a few nice things out of it at the end.
Is the immense sacrifice really worth it. Not seeing your family because you are always working. Always chasing money.
The money is a trap as well because as soon as you start earning more money then you start buying nicer and more expensive stuff. You buy gifts for your family because you feel guilty about working so much and not seeing them.
The reality is they would rather have your time than your money. You buy a nicer car, perhaps you move into a bigger house.
Your monthly bills increase and although you are making more money and working harder than ever, you don't actually have any more money.
You just end up with less time and more nice stuff. You end up being more stressed and unhappy because you have to work harder to support all this stuff you have bought.
It all needs to be paid for. You wanted to earn lots of money so that you could have freedom but you have actually achieved the opposite.
This is why you need to be clear about what you want to achieve in your life. What you want to create for yourself and your family. What exactly is it that you want.
What is the ultimate goal and what action are you taking to achieve this goal.
And what are you allowing yourself to be distracted by which is stopping you achieve your goal.
Your focus creates your reality. Whatever you are focused on in your life, you will get.
If you are focused on complaining about your life and what is happening to you. You will get more to complain about.
If you constantly have negative self-talk, then you will get more of that. If you complain that you are fat, you will simply get fatter.
Unless you are taking specific action to get the body you would love, you will continue to be fat.
If you complain that you make stupid decisions, you will continue to make stupid decisions. You're giving your subconscious the message and the instructions of what you want.
So be careful what you wish for because you will often get it. This is why it is so important to put your focus on what you do want in your life.
No one is coming to save you. It's all down to you. You have to create a life you love but putting your attention into what you want and taking the required action.
Every day, taking the action to move yourself closer to your goals and aspirations. Being aware of distractions and their cost to your ambitions and goals.
