You are greater thank you think and yet you deny your greatness. You allow the voices in your head to remind you of all your failures in life. The voices that come from another as you grew up.
They projected their own fears and failures on to you. They were fearful of you being greater than them. And so, they made sure you would be as small and weak as they had been their whole life.
They pretended to inspire you but really they destroyed you. They let you think you were not worthy. They let you think you were not capable of achieving great things in your life.
They reminded you whenever they could how poorly your performed in school. You would be one of life's wasters. You didn't have what it took to be successful. You were useless.
You fought back. You said you would prove them wrong but deep down you knew they were telling the truth. You were not capable. There was something wrong with you.
Something wrong with your brain. You would have to work harder than everyone else to get anywhere in life. You would have to train harder than anyone else if you wanted to be a good athlete.
You had to suffer. You deserved to suffer. You suffered so much that it became comfortable for you because it was the only thing you could really relate to. It was your constant companion.
When you began to suffer in whatever form it took. It was familiar. It was the closest thing you had to a constant friend.
You would suffer together. Beat yourself up because you weren't suffering enough. Push yourself harder and harder. Until, you finally both fell asleep, completely exhausted. Worn out.
Another day would dawn. Beautiful sunshine and blue sky. A day full of hope. But as you lay there, looking at the beauty. You knew, it was another day to suffer. It was another day to begin the process of wearing yourself out.
For when you were tired and exhausted, the voices stopped. The self-mutilation stopped. The voices of all those that told you that you were incapable.
You were useless. You were not worthy of having a great life. You didn't have what it took. You were broken. There was a part of your human that was missing.
And so, your only hope was to push yourself. Using the fuel of those cruel words of those that should have known better. The words of those entrusted to educate you in the way of the world but instead all you learnt was their fear.
Their own insecurities and their own failures. They wanted you to be the same as them. And worst of all, they weren't even conscious of what they were doing to you and others.
Entrusted to teach all of you how to be great. To teach all of you how you could achieve anything in your life if you set your mind to it.
To teach you that it was more about being clever and strategic than hard work for the sake of hard work. To teach you to have fun along the way, no matter how hard things appeared.
To find happiness and joy in your life journey. And yes, to work hard when you needed to but to never lose sight of why. What you wanted to achieve. What was your plan and goal.
Not just working hard and suffering and hoping it will pay off. But secretly self-sabotaging yourself along the way because whatever success came your way, you were reminded of those words when you were young.
You're not worthy, you're not capable. You're useless. And so, you would discard any success that you felt. You would kill it in its tracks so that you could maintain your belief system.
You would kill any happiness and joy that came into your life because of your belief system. Created by those around you as a young child. But your constant companion was suffering and pain.
And so you grabbed it with both hands and you suffered. You complained about the world. You complained about all the things that happened to you.
You were a victim of your life. You were powerless to change it. You admired others from afar at their success. At their big houses and fancy cars. The amazing holidays they went on.
You knew, it was not for you. You were broken. You couldn't have that life you so desperately wanted. And so, you fell asleep. Too tired, too exhausted from all your suffering to fight another day.
You prayed for it to be over. You prayed you would not wake up the next day. But every day started with disappointment. You hadn't died in your sleep. You would have to face another day.
You would have to do it all again. You were even too weak to end it for yourself. You simply weren't brave enough. There was a deep sadness within you. A deep sense of loss. A miserable existence.
But one day, after many years of suffering and fleeting moments of happiness. You embarked on a new journey. You found a new teacher, despite your age. And he taught you that everything you understood about life.
Everything you had been taught about life. These belief systems that plagued your existence. These voices in your head. They were all made up. They were all wrong.
There was indeed another way of being. These people you envied with their big houses, fancy cars and lush holidays. They were no different to you. You were lied to for you are not broken.
Even you, with all your suffering and powerlessness has a genius within you. A genius just waiting to break free and show the world your gifts and talents.
More than that. Your focus creates your reality. This wise man showed you what was possible. Regardless of your circumstances. That you had the power to create a life you would love.
He showed you that it was you and you alone that needed to take responsibility for your own life. That sitting there, complaining about what happens to you was all self-created.
That you, accepting the words and fears of those that taught you as a child had created the life you had. One based out of fear and the illusion that you're broken.
Understanding your responsibility in this creation, you also understand that you have the power to create a life you do want. It takes awareness of when these self-limiting beliefs are playing out in your head.
Of allowing them to sabotage you. Of noticing patterns that repeat in your life which all lead to failure. That magic really exists. And you can create magic by putting all your focus on what your heart would love.
That when you let go of needing to be distracted by all the drama that life has to offer. Letting go of seeking distraction by binge watching TV, drinking, taking drugs and so on.
That now, suddenly, you have all this time and energy to put into go after what you would love to create in your life. You create specific goals based on your genius.
You tune in and find out what baby steps you need to take to turn these dreams and goals into reality. You take the action, regardless of how crazy and off the wall they may seem.
And you see your new life playing out right in front of your eyes. You suddenly see that life is all about being fulfilled. Not chasing after big houses, fancy cars and lush holidays.
Everyone is different. Everyone is fulfilled by different things they love. All that matters is that you follow your heart. You learn to love and be loved.
You learn the power of your heart that has been lying dormant your whole life until this moment. And now, you create a whole different human experience for yourself.
One that is not based on your past or what you were told in your past. But based on doing what you love doing. Of recognising to let go of what you cannot change and instead focus on what you can.
To focus on you and being the best version of yourself. Understanding that being the best version of yourself serves others. Inspires others.
Sends the right messages to your children that they are capable. They are worthy. They are responsible for the life they create for themselves. Not some teacher, who projects their fears and self-limiting beliefs onto others.
You are not a victim of your life. You are the creator. You have free will and choice. You get to choose what you would love to do in this moment right now.
So, understanding that you are the creator. What are you going to create today. What are you going to focus on.
