In the raw beauty of nature, we can re-find ourselves when we are in a state of overwhelm. It is the energy and vibration of nature that slows down time for us.
It reminds our soul of our purpose on earth. To love and feel loved. To appreciate the beauty of nature from the smallest beetle, eating a blade of grass to a graceful swan proudly showing everyone her beautiful signets.
When we see nature operating in her purest form. That every blade of grass, every shrub and bush and tree is all made up of pure energy. Even water, especially is pure energy.
It gives life to the fish swimming in her depths and the swans, ducks, geese and other birds. Regardless of the hard realities of living in nature. Where those that feed on others, suddenly become food themselves.
Life and death ebbs and flows constantly but the one thing that is constant is that nature in her beauty remains steadfast. Regardless of death, there is always new life.
There is always another day dawning after the sun set the day before. Regardless of hardships, life continues to thrive within nature. The energy is always flowing.
Even in a disastrous forest fire, there is always new life afterwards. Nature always finds a way to keep going.
Her animals, plants, trees, birds and fish. Her beetles and bugs and spiders never for a moment sit and feel sorry for themselves and their hard life.
They have a constant purpose. To survive, thrive and breed the next generation. While as humans, our purpose may not quite be as simple. At its very core, it is.
But what we do, is sit and feel sorry for ourselves and our hard life. But imagine if our whole purpose was to be food for another species further up the food chain.
Imagine, if we were actually just bugs and constantly trying to survive in a world of giants animals, spiders and other beetles. All trying to eat us so that they may thrive and survive.
That is one thing we can be eternally grateful for. We're at the top of the food chain. And yet, we complain the most about our life.
We feel sorry for ourselves and we feel sad and depressed. We feel hard done by. We feel life isn't fair.
When you feel like this. When this is your current state of mind, then imagine, for just a moment that you are a beetle.
You have a very short life span, everyone wants to eat you and you have to find your own food. You have to find a mate to procreate which is your whole purpose.
Your purpose is to continue your species. If you stop and feel sad because you are a beetle, then you will fail at your purpose.
And your purpose is much bigger than you.
You are responsible for making sure your species continues on this planet. You are part of the whole thriving ecosystem. There is no time to make up thoughts and feelings.
There is no time for you to sit on your little beetle sofa, watching rubbish TV and being brain washed by spider adverts. You have to get on with life.
It is short but purposeful.
You cannot worry about what others are doing.
You cannot worry that a forest fire may or may not come.
You cannot worry about things you cannot control.
But you can put all your energy into having a great little life. Playing and having fun as you find food, dodging and outsmarting those that wish to eat you.
Finding yourself a girlfriend or boyfriend. Making babies, feeding them and protecting them.
Leading a purposeful and fulfilling life.
So be more beetle. You may not want to make babies but you can still control what you can control.
Not worry about what you cannot control and most importantly, live a purposeful and fulfilling life.
How did you capture such depth in your swan picture? I could get out my chair to step into the forest and tiptoe across the lake.
Ahh I enjoyed reading this beautiful piece so much! Thank you for a reminder to enjoy nature more, every day is truly a blessing - and we will always have our little sky and clouds <3
