There was once a young boy that lived in a place surrounded by suffering. This effected him daily. He could see the struggles of his loved ones and friends and even unknown people.
All struggling to survive. Having happy times but then very sad times. Turning to distractions like alcohol and sex to seek pleasure in a world full of suffering. And in so, creating more suffering.
He was at pains to discover how he could help such a world. But he had no one at the time who could tell him. They all told him this was the way of the world. This was what life was all about.
You had to push yourself and suffer through and just make the best of your situation. Life was tough in Africa they used to say. There was nothing to be done.
But he was not convinced. He knew there must be a better way. He noticed that some people were often happy and content. Deeply in love with their partner.
They had nice things, house and car and their children seemed to have everything they needed. But he also noticed that this was simply a perception, for often, this was a front.
People seemed happy until they went back home when no one was looking. Then it was a different story. There was sadness and unresolved trauma from their past.
In those quite moments when they were not having fun and distracting themselves, there was a lot of pain. And so, this young boy wondered, was this all that life had to offer or was there truly another way.
Surely, the whole human experience was not all about suffering. We were not born into this magical world in order to simply suffer.
And so, he continued to search and in this search, he discovered there indeed was another way. It was about power. Who had the power over their life. Who were they letting run their life.
Was it them or someone else. Was it their environment or their circumstances. It became apparent to him that there were different steps to take in order to seek a life with less suffering.
Taking responsibility for everything was step one. Responsibility for each decision and action we took as a human and the consequences. The responsibility for our thoughts that subconsciously created our real life.
Being a victim. He saw that when we simply complained all the time, we would get more of what we complained about. He noticed how people always had something to complain about.
With their friends and family and to anyone who would listen. He noticed how this was all low vibrational. The act of complaining and being a victim made people more sad and depressed.
Made them feel powerless about their life. However, when they made a conscious decision to be aware of their complaining and being a victim of their life and to stop this behavior.
Then, things started to change for these people. Their vibration increased. It was heightened. They no longer felt sad or powerless. They felt more in control. Even more importantly, they felt grateful.
He saw that lots of people speak about gratitude but they don't truly live it. When they lived in gratitude, again, they had a different life experience. They got more of what they were grateful for in their life.
This was a way of being. This was not having a moment of feeling grateful, once a day or once a week. This was living in gratitude for everything around you. Being grateful for the small things in your life.
For every little thing and experience. And armed with this knowledge, he began to tell others. Some were receptive, others not so much. He realised that people actually liked to suffer because they understood suffering.
There was a certain comfort in suffering because it was known. They knew what it felt like. However, changing your whole perception of life, is unknown. Who knows what the outcome of that will be.
What will you talk about with your friends if you can not complain together. If you no longer want to get drunk all the time. People were so stuck in that way of being, that they didn't want to let go of it.
They got sympathy from others when they complained about their life. When they told others how hard their life was. When they told others their story.
So, if they lived a live of gratitude and not complaining, what would they talk to their friends about now. How would they get their dopamine fix from people feeling sorry for them.
The truth was authenticity. It was purity of spirit and self. When we seek a life we truly love. When we stop seeking sympathy and dopamine hits, we start to change.
We see the world we live in with new eyes. We see a totally different world. We see more beauty, more love, more kindness around us. We see the whole world differently.
The young boy knew this was the message he had to spread to others. But how could he do it on such a large scale to help others who simply didn't want to be helped. That were stuck in their current way of life.
Patience was the first thing and secondly it was to live that life and show others the way. Share his story with others of how he used to suffer and now he sees life in a totally different way.
Have deep conversations with others. Give them space to tell their story of struggle. Give them guidance to accept their story and move forward regardless.
He is responsible for everything that happens to him. He is grateful for everything in his life and everything that he sees and experiences. He had deeper conversations with his friends and family about how to change their suffering.
How to see the world in a different way. He would write a book about this. He would do videos and spread the message. This was his destiny, to help others raise their vibration. To suffer less.
At first he worried that this was such huge task. How could he achieve it by himself. But he was reminded that to eat an elephant. You simply have to take one bite at a time.
Just start and the momentum will start to increase. The ball will roll faster and faster. More and more people will see this new way of being and they will embrace it.
And through all of this, people will start to suffer less.
Is there something that you can change in your life from today?
This is my latest book on Amazon called Billion Dollar Hack. It’s an exciting thriller.
Awareness is a wish of mine for the world. I’ve been aware since 7 years old when a beautiful white light shot out of a wall and surrounded me. It’s so important to know to live in the now, meditate and find peace in your personal life. Connecting with your higher self is pure magic. Fear gets in the way for many, it saddens me. Thank you Colin, this was a lovely story with an important message.
